Kawatourou
The lantern shown below is made from rocks taken out of the rivers, surrounding
the Makabe area. In Japanese, this lantern is called kawa tourou, which means:
River Stone Lantern
The rocks of the river lanterns have been left largely untouched to preserve its natural
appearance. Only small parts were worked on to ensure a secure stand for the lantern.
Because as little carving as possible was done, you can benefit from the lower price
compared to fully carved lanterns, while enjoying the natural look.
