Dear Stone Art Expert,
The area of Makabe – around 80 km northeast of Tokyo – is famous for its
stonemasons.Usually the stonemasons are small family companies with several
generations of experience in this profession. All stone used by the stonemasons
is taken from the nearby Kaba Mountain quarry.
