The lantern shown below is made from stones taken from Kaba mountain.
This famous mountain is located about 80km from Tokyo. In Japanese this
lantern is called: shizengata tourou, which means:
Natural Lantern
The stones of these mountain lanterns have been left untouched to preserve their
natural appearance. Only small parts were worked on to ensure a secure standing
of the lantern. As only minimal efforts were taken in carving, you can benefit from
its lower price compared to fully carved lanterns while enjoying the natural look.
