Shizengatatourou
The lantern shown below is made from rock taken from Kaba Mountain.
This famous mountain is located about 80km from Tokyo. In Japanese, this
lantern is called shizengata tourou, which means:
Natural Lantern
The rock from which these mountain lanterns were made has been left largely
untouched to preserve its natural appearance. Only small parts of the rock were
worked on to ensure a secure stand for the lantern. Because as little carving as
possible was done, you can benefit from the lower price compared to fully carved
lanterns, while enjoying the natural look.
This lantern is still available. Please under- stand that once sold, we can not supply exactly the same one again, as these lanterns are unique. We will be happy to provide you with similar looking lantern upon request. |
